What warranty claims typically involve, by RV type
Every RV type fails in its own ways, and each claim has to reach the right party — the RV manufacturer, the chassis manufacturer or a component supplier — with the evidence that party expects. Here is what typically goes into claims for each type we cover.
Travel Trailer
Slide-out mechanisms and seals, roof membranes and sealant, water intrusion and delamination, plumbing and water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, and 12-volt electrical. Axles, brakes and running gear are often warranted by the component supplier.
Fifth Wheel
Multiple slide-outs and their seals, hydraulic leveling and landing gear, pin box and frame concerns, residential-style appliances, roofs and sealant, and more complex electrical and plumbing systems.
Class A
Two warranties in one unit: the engine, transmission and drivetrain are generally warranted by the chassis manufacturer, while the coach — slide-outs, leveling jacks, generator, roof, windshield and house systems — falls under the RV manufacturer.
Class C
A cutaway chassis covered by the chassis manufacturer, plus a body built by the RV manufacturer: cabover and roof seals, slide-outs, generators, and house electrical, plumbing and heating systems.
Van Camper
The van itself is warranted by the chassis manufacturer; the conversion — compact electrical and battery systems, plumbing, heating, cabinetry and fit and finish — is warranted by the RV manufacturer.
Small Trailer
Seals, windows and entry doors, roof and sealant, compact electrical and water systems, and running gear such as axles, tires and brakes.
Pop-Up
Canvas and tent material, zippers and snaps, the lift system and cables, bunk-end supports, and seals where the hard and soft sections meet.
Toy Hauler
The rear ramp door and its seals, garage flooring and tie-downs, fuel stations and generators, heavy-duty suspension and tires, plus the slide-outs, roofs and appliances found in other towables.
Truck Camper
Camper jacks, cabover and roof seals, slide-outs on larger models, and the electrical connection to the truck. The truck itself is outside the camper manufacturer’s warranty.
Destination Trailer
Residential-style appliances, HVAC and plumbing, large slide-outs and their seals, and roofs — units built for extended stays, where appliances often carry their own supplier warranties.

Who covers chassis repairs on a motorhome?
Generally the chassis manufacturer, not the RV manufacturer. On Class A, Class C and van campers, the engine, transmission and drivetrain are usually warranted by the chassis maker, while the coach and house systems fall under the RV manufacturer — so each claim has to go to the right party.
Does the RV type change how a claim is documented?
Yes. A slide-out, roof leak or ramp-door failure each needs different photos, notes and labor coding, and every manufacturer has its own requirements. Our specialists build each claim to the standard of the manufacturer reviewing it.
